In my opinion, faux fur is massively underrated. Currently I have 3 faux fur jackets in my wardrobe but it’s only been in recent weeks that I’ve appreciated them for the cosy little creatures that they are.
Let’s face it, January is really dragging on and it’s not getting any warmer anytime soon. Therefore, we have two options. We either throw a pity party, wrap up in all of the clothes we own and throw fashion out of the window until the cold passes. Orrrrrrr…we embrace the cold weather and thank our lucky stars for the endless amounts of faux fur goodness that it has granted us the opportunity to wear.
Somedays more than others you need all the extra help you can get to crack a smile and give the day everything you’ve got, especially when it comes to Mondays. For me, I try to get that extra push through wearing an outfit that makes me feel confident. Sometimes that means a slick of red lipstick, sometimes it means a pair of shiny shoes but recently it means stepping into Monday wearing the warmest, sassiest, fluffiest, faux fur coat that I can get my hands on.
I think a lot of people fear the fur because they think it’s far too dressy and only to be worn by old ladies or Pretty Woman pre-makeover (to be honest, I loved her look even before the makeover but that’s a whole other blog post). But the reality is that faux fur jackets and coats couldn’t be easier to style. It’s also worth remembering that faux fur doesn’t have to mean an entirely fur coat. As included below, sticking with fur lining is very on trend at the moment too and feels a lot like wearing a blanket – bonus.
Jeans, trainers, hoodie, fur coat – perfect hungover outfit.
Little black dress, over the knee boots, faux fur jacket – perfect night out outfit.
Hoodie dress, over the knee boots, faux fur coat – perfect yeezy inspired outfit.
All in all, add a faux fur jacket to any outfit and it goes from 0 to 100 very quickly.
There are so many options out there that I’m sorry but I just won’t accept the excuse that you can’t find one that you like. In addition to that, between Instagram, Pinterest and the countless online magazines and blogs out there for styling inspiration, I also won’t accept the excuse that you don’t know how to style a faux fur coat (if you’re really stuck, I love nothing more than discussing outfits with people so message me and we can face your fear of fur together). All that’s missing to make your faux fur coat hunt easier is an edit of the best faux fur coats and jackets available currently. Oh wait…I’ve done just that for you. It couldn’t be easier.
