Gift guide season is upon us because whether you like it or not Christmas is just around the corner and if you haven’t already, it’s time to get thinking about some gift ideas.
There’s a lot of people to cover – family, significant others, work colleagues, secret santa, best friends, the list goes on and on. If you’re stuck for gift inspiration check back here every Wednesday up until Christmas for a series of gift guides. Each week the gift guides will be based on different themes and will hopefully help you in the struggle of choosing a gift for someone special.
To start of my gift guide series, this week’s theme is personalised gifts. I’m a sucker for anything with my name or initials on it. Personalised gifts show more thought, creativity and in my opinion, a monogrammed detail makes items look that little bit more expensive. Going down the route of a personalised gift is fairly safe bet in terms of finding a unique gift and eliminates that fear of someone else buying the them the same thing. Not only that but they’re perfect for all ages and genders so whether its your little cousin or best friend you’re buying the gift for, it’s sure to go down a treat.
1.Not on the High Street
notonthehighstreet.com is dedicated to bringing together creative small businesses in a wide range of different areas covering beauty, fashion, home decor and so much more. For that reason they couldn’t be more perfect for finding the ideal personalised Christmas gifts. Also for that reason, my Mum swears by Not on the Hight Street for Christmas shopping.
As I was scouring the internet for all of the best available personalised gifts I ended up on notonthehighstreet.com and ended up loving a lot of their stock. With about 10 different products that I wanted to feature in this guide I thought it would be easier to group them all together under one heading.
Again, another brand that where I ended up loving too many products while doing some market research for this post so have dedicated an entire section to the brand. My Shining Armour is the ultimate one stop shop for cute and quirky gifts in general but their selection of personalised gifts is flawless. The Irish business stocks a wide range of all of the best brands including ban.do, Kate Spade and Bombay Duck so even if you can’t find the perfect personalised gift among their stock, you’re sure to have a basket full of amazing goodies and plenty of alternatives. I’ve had my eye on the Bombay Duck alphabet mugs for a while now. Thanks to My Shining Armour this gift guide is starting to turn into more of a wishlist…
3. Travel Accessories
Monogrammed travel accessories bring a little extra touch of luxury to your travel and are the perfect gift for your jetsetter friend or family member. Most of the below picks range from £40-£50 with the Louis Vuitton absolute dream of a passport holder being the exception. The Thomas Lyte option comes in a range of colours with the option to emboss your name or initials onto the cover for an additional £15 or you can just buy it as it is. I have a serious weakness for the pink Aspinal of London option that I’ve included. It’s also available in a range of colours but I love the bright pink with the gold details. In usual Aspinal of London style they’ve captured the perfect balance between classic and fun. Lastly we’ve got the grainy leather passport holder from Mon Purse, available in a range of colours with subtle initial detailing in the bottom right corner keeping the look classic and chic. The best thing about these passport covers is that due to their availability in a range of colours, they’re the perfect gift for both men and women.
4. Yolke Silk Eye Masks
Lastly, I couldn’t put together a gift guide of personalised gifts without mentioning these gorgeous silk eye masks from Yolke. The perfect companion for an uninterrupted night’s sleep, the silk keeps the masks as comfortable as possible while the two available patterns – zodiac signs and initials – make sure you’re at your most glam even when you sleep. Your friends will be sure to thank you later for this one when they have manage night after night of peaceful sleeping. Yolke also offer other monogramming services for clothes and accessories stocked on their website. You can find out more or get in contact for a quote by clicking here.
Don’t forget to check back next Wednesday for the next instalment of my gift guide series.
