TREND REPORT: 3 Ways to Wear Leopard Print

Leopard print was one of those trends I fully embraced as a young teenager and lived to fully regret it. It was around the same time that leggings had really taken off as a trend so combine the two and you can only imagine the god-awful outfits I was wearing, thinking I was the coolest 15 year old around. If you go far enough back on my Facebook photos (please don’t) you’ll see exactly what I mean. Oh how wrong I was…

Now animal print has come back around and I’m faced with the dilemma of whether to go back there or not. The high street is making a pretty convincing argument and ever since style icon, Olivia Palermo wore that Zara shirt that has now shot to fame, I can’t stop thinking about the trend. Well, you know what they say, a leopard never changes its spots.

It can be a tricky trend to pull off, usually left to the more daring among us but believe it or not, there are a few ways to incorporate the trend into your wardrobe without looking like a spice girl.

1. LESS IS MORE

If you’re feeling a little bit unsure about the leopard print, start slow and introduce it to your wardrobe subtly with accessories and shoes.

2. The Leopard Print Coat

I can’t be the only one with a leopard print coat buried at the back of my wardrobe. It’s finally time to delve into the depths of your wardrobe and show off that leopard print coat in all of it’s glory. Just in case I am the only one who happens to have one in their wardrobe, here are a few picks currently on the high street. Whether paired with an all black ensemble, jeans and tee or if you’re brave enough, other prints, pretty much anyone can pull off the leopard print coat.

3. Embrace your wild side

Go all out and embrace your wild side with leopard print dresses, skirts and shirts. Keep it chic with loose fitting and keep accessories neutral. A word of warning though – avoid leopard print leggings. Speaking from experience here (unfortunately) and it’s not a good look.
